Dr Ignacio Calvo Ldo Vet,PhD,CertSAS,Dipl ECVS,FHEA,MRCVS

A 2001 graduate of the University of Cordoba (Spain), Nacho completed his surgical residency at Glasgow University School of Veterinary Medicine, Scotland (UK) and became an ECVS Diplomate in 2012, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2016. Additionally, his postgrad studies at the University of Glasgow helped him earn a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and a British Higher Education Academy Fellowship.  Nacho has close ties to the ECVS and was part of the ECVS Examination Committee until February 2023. Until July 2025 Nacho is the chairperson of the AOVET European board. Nacho practices small animal orthopaedics at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, Spain, where he also acts as the clinical director. Nacho is also a visiting professor at the Hong Kong City University Veterinary School.
